Boys & Girls Clubs of Chattanooga Receives Art & Leadership Awards

Chattanooga, TN August 26, 2024 – The Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Boys & Girls Clubs
Tennessee Area Council honored the Chattanooga Club with two prestigious awards at its annual
conference held in Jackson, TN on August 22 & 23, 2024.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Chattanooga received the Program Excellence Award for Best Arts Program in
Tennessee for 2024. This recognition celebrates the Club’s partnership with the Chattanooga Ballet. For
the past three years, over 100 girls have been dancing weekly with the ballet instructed by Monica
Ellison, Chattanooga Ballet’s Making Moves Program Coordinator.
The organization was also awarded the 2024 CEO of the Year Leadership Award, presented to the Club’s
Chief Executive Officer, Jim Morgan. In his acceptance speech, Jim remarked, “This award is a testament
to our entire team. It honors the commitment of every Club employee who is devoted to delivering
impactful, outcome-driven programs to the youth of Chattanooga.” Jim Morgan assumed the CEO role
in 2019 and the club has grown from 2 locations serving 1,000 youth to having 5 locations serving over
4,000 Chattanooga youth, ages 6-18.
