• Steak N Burger Dinner, Youth, Alumni, and Board Members Honored
This dinner is held to recognize the members in the BGCC Leadership Programs and provides an opportunity for members to meet and dine with caring community members and BGCC supporters. Marcus Shropshire was recognized and rewarded for his participation in the Youth of the Year competition; Boys Club Alum, and the first College Bound Scholarship recipient, Judge Robert L. Moon was inducted into the Keystone Society; Board members Bill Aiken, Roger Dickson, and Chapin Miller, were presented with the Man & Youth Award for years of commitment and service to the organization; UTC Head Football Coach Russ Huesman encouraged Members to take opportunities that will lead to success and encouraged Community members to continue providing positive experiences for youth.

JCPenney is conducting a nationwide program called Afterschool Round-Up, where they offer customers the opportunity to make donations to the afterschool fund, by rounding up their JCPenney purchases to the next whole dollar. These funds are then donated to afterschool programs like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chattanooga.

• Youth Honored for Service & Leadership:
Our Annual Luncheon was held on January 28, 2009 to honor our members for outstanding Leadership in the clubs and in their communities.
Marcus Shropshire was named Youth of the Year.
• New Highland Park Boys & Girls Club:
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Dedication of the new facility to Michael Cranford, was held September 18, 2008.

Over 1,000 Girls Are Members
Since the Club started to provide programs for girls in 2003, over 1,000 girls have become members.
Life Enhancing Programs:
The Mission of The Boys & Girls Clubs of Chattanooga is:
"To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens".
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Chattanooga offers a safe place for young people to learn and grow by providing ongoing relationships with peers and caring adults, along with life-enhancing programs and character development opportunities.
We change lives by instilling a sense of self-worth and positive values that enable thousands of boys and girls to realize dreams that might otherwise pass them by.

We provide over3000 boys and girls with after-school and summer programs in four locations:

- Highland Park
- Harriet Tubman Development
